Annual Meeting 2026

Welcome to Oslo, Norway, for the 2026 SCANSECT Annual Meeting 2026. This year, our conference will be open to 100 delegates.

The meeting will take place at the Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel on September 24–25.

The conference will begin on September 24 with a get-together in the industry exhibition area at the Radisson Plaza Hotel.

The official program starts on Friday morning, September 25, and an optional dinner will be held in the evening at the Plaza’s rooftop restaurant.

The SCANSECT scientific committee will address several topics within perfusion and extracorporeal circulation. The program will cover selected clinical developments such as hematocrit management and cannulation for acute aortic dissection. The program will also introduce new and emerging perspectives and highlight educational and research activities. Overall, the themes reflect SCANSECT’s commitment to advancing practice, education, and innovation in the field.

There will also be an excellent opportunity to hear experienced paediatric perfusionists provide practical guidance on managing paediatric ECMO in acute situations where immediate support from a specialised paediatric centre is not available. The focus is on hands-on decision-making, including cannulation and priming strategies for initiating and maintaining ECMO support in children under emergent conditions. The program is particularly relevant for adult-focused institutions that may unexpectedly encounter critically ill paediatric patients and need to act decisively with limited external support.

The SCANSECT General Assembly will take place on September 26, and the meeting will conclude before lunch.

The Radisson Plaza is located in the city centre of Oslo, close to Oslo Central Station, and is easily accessible by public transportation directly from Oslo Airport Gardermoen. The journey takes approximately 20 minutes by airport train.
