November 2010 an airport meeting in Copenhagen with SATS where future of the meetings was discussed and how SATS has decided to divide the surplus. Timo Savunen was going to get contact with the perfusionists in Vilnius and Else planned to visit them in January to prepare next SCANSECT meeting.
Next meeting was extended SCANSECT board meeting at the NORSECT local meeting in “Hurtigruten” sailing from Throndheim to Bergen in January 2011. The main topic there was the future cooperation with SATS.
A brief survey among the Scandinavians perfusionist made by SCICOM member in each country, they all agree upon keeping these meetings with SATS as before, but with clear cooperation with SATS.
The cooperation with Tampere didn’t start off very well as Timo Rinne that we met at the Oslo meeting, had stop working in Cardiothoracic Anaesthesia, but when we got through to him we got contact with Seppo Hiippala which we have had a very good cooperation with ever since, many and telephone meetings with good results

Intraoperative Management in Carcinoid Heart Disease
We only got one abstract this year and it was a poster and we later found out that it was not from a Scandinavian perfusionist.
I am very disappointed and the missing abstract confirm that I have failed to inspired Scandinavian perfusionists to make researches or studies and send in abstracts to the meeting. Fortunately Seppo Hiippala, the SCANSECT congress president this year, have done a very good job and managed to make a very ambitious program for perfusionist in Tampere.
I would really need feedback on how I can encourage Scandinavian perfusionist to send in abstracts next year, wherever our meeting will be held.
